To inspire the class’s vibrant enthusiasm for answering the call of national rejuvenation and unite the students’ striving power to ride the tide of the times, Class 12042401 (Accounting, Grade 2024) of the School of Management held a themed activity titled “Sounding the Call of the Times in the Name of Youth” on November 20. This activity integrated the themed class meeting on “Me and Chinese Modernization” with a League Day event. Through ideological exchanges, it guided students to interpret their mission and responsibility in the name of youth and compose a youthful chapter amid the powerful voice of the times.

The class meeting opened with a speech by Class Monitor Zhai Yunru, who emphasized that students should anchor their youthful position on the coordinate axis of Chinese modernization and lay a solid foundation for a high-spirited class spirit with the ambition to serve the country through their profession. Zhang Ruifeng, the Study Committee Member, structured his presentation around four modules: “Tracing the Origin & Forging the Soul,” “Understanding the Meaning & Grasping the Trends,” “Benchmarking & Reflecting on Progress,” and “Practicing & Striving for Long-Term Goals.” He revisited General Secretary Xi Jinping’s earnest exhortations to “voluntarily embrace hardships” and “become outstanding young people of the new era,” analyzed the connotations of Chinese modernization—including its scale of 1.4 billion people and ecological priority—and used examples such as the young R&D team of Chang’e-6 and Post-00 Teacher Long Weijie winning gold medals to showcase youth responsibility, interpreting that “struggle is the most brilliant hue of youth.”

Subsequently, League Branch Secretary Ren Han led the themed League Day activity. The students held a lively discussion on “How can the accounting profession serve Chinese modernization,” clarifying specific paths to hone their skills and participate in social practice during their studies, and strengthened their conviction to follow the Party’s leadership. Through interactive discussions and responsibility oaths, they were guided to turn their knowledge into conscious action, vowing to contribute youthful strength with professional responsibility of precise accounting and integrity in practice.

During the sharing session, Xu Biao, a new member of the class, took the initiative to speak. He sincerely expressed his sense of belonging to Class 12042401, elaborated on his understanding of the class meeting theme based on his own experience, and set role models around him as benchmarks. He promised to integrate into the new class as soon as possible and refine his accounting professional skills. His statement that he would use his professional capabilities to serve social development in the future won warm applause from the whole class, further enhancing class cohesion and centripetal force.
