On April 20, Professor Liu Peide from Shandong University of Finance and Economics was invited to deliver an academic report entitled "Key Technologies and Demonstration Applications of Data Element Market Based on Blockchain" in Lecture Hall 214, School of Management, Northwestern Polytechnical University. The report was hosted by Professor Che Ada, Dean of the School of Management. Doctoral and master students as well as some faculty members from the School of Management attended the report.

In this report, drawing on his long-term research experience in data elements, blockchain, decision analysis and intelligent management, Professor Liu Peide systematically introduced the research progress of his team on "Key Technologies and Demonstration Applications of Data Element Market Based on Blockchain" against the practical demands and national strategic background of data element market construction. Professor Liu pointed out that data has become the fifth factor of production following land, labor, capital and technology, and the data element market is emerging as a new arena for global competition. In view of practical problems in data circulation and trading including insufficient supervision, difficulties in the circulation of private data, imperfect incentive mechanisms and defective trading models, he elaborated from three dimensions: theoretical construction, breakthrough of key technologies and platform demonstration application. He focused on the research progress in blockchain-based data element circulation and trading model, precise right confirmation and authorization, verification and regulatory governance of data transactions, value evaluation and benefit distribution, as well as the development and application demonstration of distributed data trading platforms. Combined with typical scenarios such as finance, logistics, medical care and people's livelihood, Professor Liu further demonstrated the application value of blockchain technology in promoting trusted circulation of data elements, improving regulatory efficiency and serving the development of digital economy, and presented the phased achievements made by his team in theoretical research, key technology research, platform construction and standard formulation.
