Focusing on the innovative design and service design of aerospace models, high-end manufacturing equipment, industrial robots, automotive and electronic products, and intelligent interconnected products, we conduct research on product design and development management. The main research areas include design process and organization management, design quality management, requirements management, design knowledge management, design behavior, sustainable design management, and intelligent product service systems.

We have undertaken 10 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 7 projects under the 863 Program, 5 projects supported by the Aeronautical Science Foundation, and more than 20 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research projects. Additionally, we have carried out over 20 enterprise cooperation projects, such as research on model design/manufacturing knowledge, integration of innovative organizational management models for model development, customized design management of industrial robots, and human-computer interaction design of industrial robot teach pendants. The total scientific research funding received exceeds 10 million yuan.

We have established long-term cooperation mechanisms with renowned universities in Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Denmark and other countries, and have jointly cultivated more than 10 doctoral students. We have also built sound industry-university-research cooperation relationships with enterprises including China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, AVIC Xi'an Aircraft Industry (Group) Co., Ltd., AVIC Chengdu Aircraft Industry (Group) Co., Ltd., AVIC Research Institute 618, Fast Group, China Merchants Heavy Industry, United Automotive Electronic Systems Co., Ltd., Beijing Jingdiao Group, and Qingdao Soft Control Engineering Co., Ltd.
