To thoroughly implement the university's goal of cultivating "Chief Engineer-type" talents, advance the "Three Ones" practical education project, broaden students' international horizons, and enhance their global competence, the School of Management organized a seven-day in-depth study program at the University of Cambridge in the UK for 30 students from August 16 to August 22, 2026. Centered on modules including lectures by renowned scholars, academic visits, and corporate tours, the program strives to build a multi-dimensional, high-level international education platform.

Course Studies: Engaging with a World-Class University to Learn Cutting-Edge Theories
On the morning of August 17, the program was officially launched at Girton College, University of Cambridge. Associate Professor Chris Coleridge from Cambridge Judge Business School was invited to serve as the lead instructor. Professor Coleridge holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and an MBA from London Business School. Before transitioning to academia, he spent many years working on the front lines of business, making him a management scholar with both profound theoretical knowledge and extensive practical experience. During several days of intensive courses, Professor Coleridge covered eight topics—including strategy and leadership, opportunity innovation and entrepreneurial judgment, and customer value creation and strategic choice—building a systematic and cutting-edge knowledge system of management for the students.

Field Visits: Immersing in Academic Traditions and Experiencing Innovative Governance
In addition to coursework, students explored the University of Cambridge, visiting renowned colleges such as King's College to experience the academic heritage and architectural beauty of this century-old institution. Strolling along the River Cam, they savored the poetic and humanistic sentiments of "Saying Goodbye to Cambridge Again" by the famous poet Xu Zhimo. On August 20, the students ventured off-campus to visit the Cambridge Science Park. There, they gained an in-depth understanding of the park's innovation ecosystem and industry-academia-research collaboration mechanisms, attended lectures on corporate innovation and entrepreneurship, and discussed practical pathways for technology-empowered business development. The program culminated in a formal High Table dinner. Dressed in formal attire, students immersed themselves in this traditional Cambridge ceremony, engaging in academic exchanges within a solemn yet warm atmosphere. Drawing upon their academic backgrounds and integrating management theories with business thinking, the students demonstrated clear reasoning and articulate expression, showcasing solid professional competence and excellent international communication skills.

The 2026 Summer Program on Strategic Management and Business Leadership at the University of Cambridge not only broadened the students' academic horizons but also elevated their ways of thinking. Immersed in a globalized classroom, they absorbed intellectual nourishment and gathered momentum for growth through multicultural exchanges, injecting strong impetus into their future development as "Chief Engineer-type" talents. In this cross-cultural learning and academic exchange, the students not only achieved a transformation of knowledge but also realized personal growth and metamorphosis. Through this program, the School of Management established in-depth connections with the University of Cambridge, accumulating valuable experience in building international curricula and joint student training, which lays a solid foundation for future cooperation with world-class business schools. At the same time, the high-quality organization of the program and the outstanding performance of the students have enhanced the School's reputation and influence in international cooperation.
Participating in the School-organized summer program at Cambridge allowed me to step out of the NPU campus and immerse myself in the classroom atmosphere and academic philosophy of a prestigious overseas university. As an accounting student at NPU, I deeply appreciate our university's diligent and truth-seeking academic spirit, while also recognizing the room for improvement in my own knowledge framework. This experience motivates me to focus on my major, proactively broaden my intellectual boundaries, transform what I learned during this trip into motivation, continuously hone my skills, and view my professional development with a broader perspective.
