To help the 2025 undergraduate freshmen scientifically plan their college life and lay a solid foundation for growth, the School of Management held two special sessions themed "College Life and Career Development" at the Circular Lecture Hall on September 12 and September 14 respectively. Bai Jie, Employment Supervisor of the School of Management, Feng Shuo, Undergraduate Counselor of the 2024 cohort from the School of Mechanical Engineering, and outstanding senior students from the School of Management were invited to share their experiences. The event was hosted by Guan Linfei, counselor for the 2025 cohort.

Bai Jie focused on "Effective Connection between College Life and Career Development", covering five aspects: current situation of college life, cognitive transformation, quality improvement, major selection and development direction. Through case studies and data analysis, she explained the importance of career planning for freshmen’s future growth, emphasizing that college is a critical period for personal development and career building. She encouraged students to set goals early, take an active part in practical activities, attach importance to academic performance, and continuously improve their comprehensive competitiveness.

She also introduced the college’s employment resources and service support system, stating that the school would continue to provide all-round support for students’ career development. During the Q&A session, she answered students’ questions one by one, and the atmosphere was warm and active.

Feng Shuo delivered a unique immersive career course through his original short play Rebirth: Boss, Hire Me Again. Centered on the theme "College Life in Your Resume", he discussed college career planning with students. From the perspective of the main character "Guo Dabing", the course vividly presented typical challenges in college, such as game addiction, fraud prevention, and social interaction. By using the "rebirth" plot, students were guided to revisit key life choices, experience the life changes brought by different decisions in an immersive way, and reflect on their own choices.

He also systematically explained the key standards and practical skills of resume writing, and analyzed how to turn college experience into resume highlights with real examples. The lecture was both interesting and practical, enabling students to master important skills in career planning and resume writing in a relaxed atmosphere.

Zhang Xinrong, a student from the Class of 2022, shared her experience in three areas: academic study, student work and the second classroom. Academically, she suggested freshmen strengthen their professional foundation, improve their GPA, attach importance to English and achieve high scores in CET-4 and CET-6, and participate in high-level competitions to broaden their academic horizons. In student work, she encouraged students to grow through dedication by sharing her experience in "Three Goes to the Countryside" social practice, agricultural research in Yunnan and Guizhou, and volunteer services. For the second classroom, she recommended taking part in campus cultural activities to enrich personal experience.

The two sessions injected new momentum into the career planning of the 2025 freshmen and helped them establish a scientific awareness of career planning at an early stage. It is expected that under the guidance of teachers and outstanding peers, the students will forge their own path of growth, enrich themselves through continuous exploration and accumulation, and finally realize their values and ideals on a broader stage of life.
