On the morning of September 9, the School of Management solemnly held the Opening Ceremony for the 2025 Graduate Students at Chang’an Campus.

Che Ada, Dean of the School of Management; Zhang Shuang, Secretary of the Party Committee; Guo Yuntao, Vice Dean; Wang Haixiao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Hong Zhaofu, Assistant to the Dean and Director of the Department of Business Administration; Zhang Yali, Director of the Department of Management Science and Engineering; Su Kun, Director of the Department of Accounting; Chen Qian, teacher representative; student affairs staff Bai Jie, Gong Xue, Zhang Mengyu; teaching secretaries Chen Feiran, Sun Xin, as well as 43 new doctoral students and 136 new full-time master’s students attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Zhang Lin, graduate counselor.

The ceremony began with the solemn playing of the national anthem.

On behalf of the school, Che Ada extended a warm welcome to the 2025 graduate freshmen and delivered the "First Lesson of the Semester" from three aspects: the development history of the school, the achievements made by the school in recent years, and expectations for graduate students. He pointed out that graduate education differs significantly from undergraduate education in training objectives and models, with greater emphasis on systematic training of students’ independent thinking and complex problem-solving abilities. He hoped that all freshmen would quickly adapt to their identity transformation, cultivate the ability to think independently and solve problems, establish a sound communication mechanism with their supervisors to build healthy and harmonious supervisor-student relationships, and pursue excellence and innovative breakthroughs in scientific research.

Hong Zhaofu gave a special introduction on the graduate training system. He noted that freshmen should soon shift from admission ideals to research practice, set clear academic goals, and devote themselves to research training with perseverance. He systematically explained the graduate training process, scholarship and aid system, and employment and development paths, providing clear guidance for students’ academic growth.

Chen Qian delivered a speech on cultivating graduate students’ research capabilities in the era of artificial intelligence. She emphasized that as AI reshapes research paradigms, graduate students should focus on developing core research literacy and innovation capabilities, adapt to emerging research methods, explore cutting-edge topics, and achieve comprehensive improvement through rigorous scientific training.

Li Xinyi, a new doctoral student, and Gao Keyu, a new master’s student, spoke as freshmen representatives. They expressed their expectations and determination for the new academic stage, stating that they would cherish their time on campus, abide by academic norms, devote themselves to research, and contribute to the development of the school.

Finally, Zhang Shuang sent a message to all freshmen. She encouraged them to deeply understand and practice the university motto "Public Integrity, Courage, Perseverance", and actively integrate into the academic culture of the School of Management. She stressed that graduate students should form scientific values and standardized research methods through positive interactions with teachers and supervisors, and shared three expectations: first, to stay focused and accumulate accomplishments; second, to be modest and pragmatic with a healthy mindset and persistent effort; third, to learn to live and perceive happiness while completing studies, achieving all-round growth.
