The competition was hosted by Chen Jianqiao, a postgraduate student of the 2021 cohort. Zhang Yali, Professor from the Department of Management Science and Engineering, Zhang Shujuan, Professor from the Department of Business Administration, Bai Jie, Employment Supervisor of the school, and counselors of all grades attended the opening ceremony and served as judges for the on-site defense.

The competition consisted of two tracks: Growth Track and Employment Track. After preliminary registration and selection, a total of 20 contestants entered the final defense.

At the competition, contestants elaborated on their career planning and practical experience from the aspects of self-cognition, career exploration, career orientation and growth paths. Some students dreamed of becoming information processing engineers, committed to exploring value in the ocean of data and leading the frontier of information technology; some were busy preparing for the selection of selected graduates, eager to contribute their strength to public services and realize social values; others aspired to become cross-disciplinary AI engineers, integrating technology and industrial wisdom to create a new chapter in artificial intelligence applications.

All contestants demonstrated the struggle of young students in the new era to pursue their dreams, as well as the youth responsibility of writing the "great self" of a strong country with the "small self" of youth. Their clear and logical defense statements and vivid presentations fully reflected the enthusiasm of the students from the School of Management for professional learning and expectations for future employment.

The judges gave comprehensive evaluations to the contestants from the perspectives of the rationality of career goals, feasibility of planning, and completeness of the presentation and defense, and put forward suggestions from professional and employment perspectives.

Bai Jie pointed out that students should clarify "what", "why" and "how" of their career goals.

Zhang Yali mentioned that when making career plans, young students may combine their own interests to explore a broader future, and encouraged students to bravely "make simplifications", avoid following the crowd and act after careful planning.

Zhang Shujuan suggested that students align their experience with job requirements from the perspective of position matching, continuously improve their competitiveness in practice, and match their own qualities with positions.

Under the theme of "Building Dreams in Youth, Aiming High; Planning for a Career-led Future", this competition not only provided a platform for students to show themselves and plan their future, but also encouraged them to actively explore the path of career development.

Taking this competition as an opportunity, the school will further explore the educational connotation of career education and planning, strengthen employment-oriented education, promote employment through competitions, guide young students to cultivate patriotism, develop professional enthusiasm, improve comprehensive qualities, and achieve high-quality and full employment.
