To fully implement the spirit of the Central Conference on Ethnic Affairs, foster a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, deepen education on ethnic unity and progress, and promote exchanges, interactions and integration among students of all ethnic groups, the School of Management of Northwestern Polytechnical University held a forum for ethnic minority students at noon on September 18, 2023 in Conference Room 212 of the School.
Qiao Caiyan, Secretary of the School’s Party Committee, Wang Zhaoxu, Deputy Secretary of the School’s Party Committee, and Nayili Kurban, undergraduate counselor, attended the event. More than 30 students from the School took part, and the forum was presided over by Nayili Kurban.

At the beginning of the forum, Nayili Kurban introduced the general situation of ethnic minority students in the School. He pointed out that ethnic minority students are an important part of the School community, and the School attaches great importance to the cultivation and care of ethnic minority students.
In the interactive session, ethnic minority students including postgraduates, seniors and juniors shared their personal experiences in turn. They talked about their gains and reflections in study, daily life and campus activities, as well as current difficulties and confusions regarding academic pressure and future planning. They also put forward opinions and suggestions on daily life and study, and expressed sincere gratitude to the university, the School, teachers and classmates for their care and support.
After the students’ active sharing, Deputy Secretary Wang Zhaoxu put forward two expectations:
First, to study diligently and ask questions bravely. He hoped senior students would give full play to their strengths, make good use of national policies and employment resources, conduct reasonable evaluation on postgraduate admission, civil service examination and employment, and take the initiative to adapt to changes.
Second, to strive for excellence. He encouraged junior students to foster a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, study hard for the high-quality development of the country, the university and their hometowns, master professional knowledge, and actively participate in social practice to enrich academic knowledge and practical experience.
Finally, Secretary Qiao Caiyan delivered a concluding speech. She encouraged students to learn from outstanding ethnic minority postgraduate seniors and constantly raise self-requirements. She stressed that the School would carefully listen to the difficulties and suggestions raised by students in study and life, and strive to ensure that students have a strong sense of happiness in life, a strong sense of achievement in learning, and a strong sense of accomplishment when graduating and stepping into society.

This forum enhanced in-depth and all-round communication between the School and ethnic minority students, further strengthened the sense of community for the Chinese nation, laid a solid foundation for improving the education, management and service for ethnic minority students, and provided strong support for their growth and success, so that the flower of ethnic unity will remain vibrant forever.
