The Project Management Institute (PMI) is one of the most influential international professional organizations in the field of project management. Its mission is to advance the scientization, professionalization and globalization of project management, enhance the global recognition and acceptance of the value of project management among various organizations, promote the development of professional education and application of project management, and help organizations achieve better performance. The institute has developed a global accreditation system for project management degree programs and established the Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs (GAC).
GAC is a world-leading academic accreditation body dedicated to driving the advancement of global education. Based on internationally recognized standards in the academic community of project management, it conducts objective and comprehensive evaluations of project management degree programs. In mainland China, our university, together with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Hohai University, Shandong University, Tianjin University and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, ranks among the 9 universities that have obtained PMI-GAC international accreditation.
Timeline
In 2013, four degree programs of the SoM successfully passed the GAC accreditation: the Bachelor of Management degree program in Engineering Management,the Master of Management degree program with a specialization in Project Management,the Master of Engineering Management (MEM) degree program in the field of Project Management,the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program with a specialization in Project Management.
In 2022, the teaching quality and achievements of the four degree programs of our school were highly recognized and confirmed to meet the requirements of the PMI-GAC reaccreditation standards. The committee conducted the final review of our school’s reaccreditation application and approved it unanimously, with the validity period of this reaccreditation being five years.
In 2025, the School of Management is actively advancing the reaccreditation work for the GAC Accreditation.
