On May 30, Geoff Perry, the Executive Vice President, Chief Membership Officer and Asia Pacific Regional Managing Director of AACSB, together with Xu Guodong, Head of East Asia, visited the School of Management and held discussions on the school’s AACSB-related work. Professor Che Ada, Dean of the School of Management, along with Vice Deans Jia Ming, Chen Lin and Guo Yuntao, attended the meeting, which was hosted by Shao Jing, Director of the School’s Accreditation Office.
At the outset of the meeting, Che Ada extended a warm welcome to Geoff Perry and Xu Guodong on behalf of the school. Shao Jing then provided a detailed overview of the school’s history and current status, highlighting its remarkable achievements in discipline development, scientific research and internationalization efforts. Special focus was placed on its distinctive practices in serving national major strategic needs and promoting education for sustainable development. She also reported on the progress and outcomes of the school’s Assurance of Learning (AoL) system, and exchanged views with the attendees on the challenges encountered during the accreditation process.
Mr. Perry highly commended the school for its clear mission positioning, culture of continuous improvement, and efforts in driving educational innovation. Both Mr. Perry and Xu Guodong offered detailed explanations of the key priorities and challenges for the school’s subsequent accreditation work, and put forward forward-looking suggestions on optimizing the teaching quality assurance system and deepening the school’s internationalization strategy.
This exchange meeting provided crucial guidance for the school in preparing the second AACSB Progress Report and conducting the subsequent on-site visit. Taking this visit as an opportunity, the school will continue to benchmark against world-class standards, and strive to enhance the core competitiveness and international influence of its management education.
