On the morning of June 2nd, three accreditation experts from Shaanxi Business School—Sun Wei, Ge Jing and Zhou Mi—visited the School of Management to conduct research and provide guidance on the IACBE International Business Accreditation for the Shaanxi MBA Program. Present at the meeting were Che Ada, Dean of the School of Management; Guo Yuntao, Vice Dean; Shao Jing, Director of the Accreditation Office; Guo Peng, Accreditation Expert; Yang Hongling, Director of the MBA Education Center; Xiao Ping, Deputy Director of the MBA Education Center; and Sun Ruoni, Deputy Director of the MBA Education Center.

Che Ada briefly introduced the enrollment status, student learning progress, and graduation rates of previous cohorts of the Shaanxi MBA Program at the teaching site of Northwestern Polytechnical University. Guo Yuntao and Shao Jing presented the progress, timeline, and internal division of labor concerning the IACBE accreditation work for the school’s Shaanxi MBA Program. They also explained the physical materials collected internally and put forward the main challenges encountered in the current stage of drafting the self-assessment report.
The experts fully affirmed the school’s support for the IACBE international business accreditation of Shaanxi Business School’s MBA Program, as well as the achievements it had accomplished so far. They pointed out that the drafting of the teaching site’s self-assessment report should highlight program strengths based on the school’s distinctive features. It was recommended that a dedicated team be established for the report drafting with clear division of labor, and an advisory committee be set up to supervise and review the report. Emphasis should be placed on adhering to the timeline to ensure the smooth progress of the Shaanxi MBA Program’s accreditation and the completion of all accreditation tasks with high quality and quantity.

IACBE, short for the International Accreditation Council for Business Education, was founded in 1997. It is an international business education accreditation body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) of the United States. Guided by a mission-driven and student learning outcome-based accreditation framework, IACBE requires its member institutions to establish outcome assessment systems, use various evaluation tools to measure student learning achievements, and simultaneously assess the operational conditions of business education units to support their school-running activities.
It is reported that IACBE currently has 232 member institutions worldwide. The Shaanxi MBA teaching site of the School of Management, Northwestern Polytechnical University, joined the IACBE accreditation of Shaanxi Business School’s MBA Program in 2020, striving to develop its Shaanxi MBA Program into a more competitive and internationally renowned program.
