From November 1 to 2, the National Finals of the 4th China Postgraduate Case Competition in Engineering Management were successfully held at the Liangxiang Campus of Beijing Institute of Technology. This competition attracted 902 teams from 160 postgraduate training institutions nationwide to compete on the same stage, with both the scale of participation and the quality of cases achieving a remarkable upgrade. The participating teams of Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) delivered an outstanding performance, winning 2 First Prizes, 6 Second Prizes and 16 Third Prizes, ranking first among all participating institutions in the number of award-winning teams. NPU was awarded the Excellent Organization Award of the competition, and Professor Che Ada and Associate Professor Wu Bei from the School of Management won the Excellent Instructor Award. These achievements highlight NPU's comprehensive strength in the field of engineering management and reflect the continuous improvement of talent cultivation and students' practical innovation capabilities in recent years.

The China Postgraduate Case Competition in Engineering Management is one of the flagship events of the China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Series Competitions. Guided by the Department of Degree Management and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education, academically supported by the National Steering Committee for the Education of Professional Degree Postgraduates in Engineering Management, and co-hosted by the Chinese Society of Academic Degrees and Graduate Education and the China Association for Science and Technology Youth Science and Technology Center, it is a national postgraduate competition mainly targeting professional degree postgraduates in engineering management. Beijing Institute of Technology served as the general organizer of this competition, and it co-organized 10 track competitions with nine prestigious universities including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Dalian University of Technology, Tongji University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Chongqing University, Xi'an Jiaotong University and Northwestern Polytechnical University. The tracks include: Carbon Neutrality and Sustainable Development, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Medical-Engineering Integration, Case-based Dissertation, Major Project Construction, Service Engineering, Smart City, Industrial Innovation, Major System R&D, and Lean Production.

Under the guidance of the Graduate School, the Engineering Management Case Competition Studio of NPU actively formed participating teams, strictly controlled the process management of the university-level competition, and strived to improve the quality of entries. A total of 38 teams were selected to participate in the national competition, ultimately achieving excellent results with a breakthrough in First Prizes and a record-high number of awards. Participating in the competition has not only inspired the innovative spirit of postgraduates in engineering management and enhanced their ability to solve practical engineering problems, but also strengthened the collaborative linkage among government, industry, academia, research and application, and promoted the in-depth integration of engineering management education and industrial practice as well as the high-quality development of related disciplines.
