On November 8, the Materials Industry Innovation and Development Conference themed "Materials Empower Chang'an, New Quality Leads the Future", together with the opening and closing ceremonies of the New-Quality Entrepreneurs Program, was held at Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU). More than 130 participants attended the event, including entrepreneurs in the materials field, alumni representatives and students of the New-Quality Entrepreneurs Program. The conference aimed to deepen the collaboration of industry, academia, research and application, foster new-quality productive forces, and drive the high-quality development of the materials industry.

Vice President Zhang Fuli of NPU and Vice Director Zhang Yong of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology delivered speeches on behalf of the university and the department respectively. They emphasized the fundamental and leading role of the materials industry in modern manufacturing, and expressed the hope to strengthen linkage with entrepreneurs and alumni, deepen industry-academia-research-application collaboration, and inject new impetus into the high-quality development of the materials industry.

In the keynote speech session, experts, scholars and entrepreneurial representatives exchanged insights and delivered speeches, including Huang Weidong, Co-founder of Xi'an Bright Laser Technologies Co., Ltd., Su Haijun, Vice Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of NPU, and Guo Qiang, Deputy General Manager of Western Superconducting Technologies Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Xi'an Juneng Superconducting Wire Technology Co., Ltd..

The opening and closing ceremonies of the new session of the New-Quality Entrepreneurs Program were held concurrently with the conference. As a powerful measure to serve national strategies and boost local economic development, NPU has been conducting training for leading entrepreneurs for 13 consecutive years, attracting a total of more than 800 outstanding entrepreneurs with innovative spirit and international vision to participate in the training programs.

This conference was co-hosted by Northwestern Polytechnical University and the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and undertaken by the School of Management and the Alumni Association of Northwestern Polytechnical University.
