School of Management Conducted Research Visits to Universities in Jilin and Heilongjiang

To learn from the advanced concepts and pragmatic measures of domestic high-level universities in talent cultivation, discipline development, and student growth, a research group composed of Chen Lin, Vice Dean of the School of Management, Wang Haixiao, Deputy Party Secretary, Hong Zhaofu, Assistant Dean, and faculty representatives conducted a special research tour from January 13 to 16. The group successively visited the Business School of Jilin University, the Business School of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), and the School of Economics and Management of Harbin Engineering University (HEU). Centering on themes including the construction and reform of undergraduate programs, the integration of undergraduate and postgraduate education coupled with the development of digital and intelligent courses, the all-round capacity improvement of postgraduates and the cultivation of academic ecology, postgraduate enrollment and selection mechanisms, as well as student Party building and employment work, the research group held in-depth and pragmatic exchanges with these sister universities.

At the Business School of Jilin University, the research group had a forum discussion with Ma Jie, Vice Dean, Zhang Xiaoyu, Vice Dean, as well as relevant faculty members and administrative directors. Vice Dean Ma Jie gave a detailed account of the undergraduate enrollment and double-degree program development, the innovation of undergraduate talent cultivation models, and the construction of digital and intelligent course modules. Vice Dean Zhang Xiaoyu shared the experience of improving cultivation quality through various forms such as special courses and academic lectures by leveraging the school’s advantageous disciplines. In addition, the two sides exchanged views on specific issues including the assessment of recommended postgraduates exempt from the entrance examination, strategies for optimizing doctoral student sources, the setting of academic scholarships, and graduation requirements.

At the Business School of Harbin Institute of Technology, the research group held talks with Ji Jingtao, Deputy Party Secretary of the Business School, Li Moran, Vice Dean, Wu Weiwei, Vice Dean, and other staff. As a directly affiliated cultivation unit of the university, the HIT Business School closely adheres to its positioning of "integrating engineering with business to strengthen commerce, and boosting engineering with business advantages", focuses on part-time education, and is gradually transforming into a teaching and research institution. It has accumulated rich experience in the coordinated development of one university with three campuses and six locations, the characteristic construction of part-time education, and the launch of micro-majors. The two sides also exchanged views on topics such as guidance for students' future development and the construction of a second-classroom education system.

At the School of Economics and Management of Harbin Engineering University, the research group was warmly received by Yang Ximiao, Deputy Party Secretary, Liu Tiansen, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Dean, and Liu Weiwei, Director of the Department of Business Administration, among others. Liu Tiansen introduced the distinctive features of the school in undergraduate cultivation, Party building work, and program development to the research group. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on issues of mutual concern, including guidance for students' participation in competitions and further education, the cultivation of teaching achievement awards, the application for Party building projects, Sino-foreign cooperative education, and the construction of student source bases.

This research tour featured a tight schedule, solid content and thorough exchanges. It enhanced mutual understanding between our school and sister universities in Northeast China, and broadened the ideas and accumulated experience for further improving the quality of talent cultivation, optimizing the student work model, and elevating the level of management and services. The School of Management will continue to uphold an open and learning attitude, strengthen mutual visits and learning with outstanding domestic and foreign schools, and effectively promote the high-quality development of all undertakings of the school.
