To thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on the development of the teaching workforce and vigorously promote the spirit of educators, an special lecture on teachers' ethics and conduct was jointly held by the School of Management and the School of Physical Science and Technology at the Chang'an Campus on the afternoon of October 28. Professor Sun Hao, a National Distinguished Teacher from the School of Mathematics and Statistics, was invited to deliver the keynote speech. This lecture was also part of the "Young Seedling Salon" series activities organized by the School of Management. Present at the event were Chao Xiaorong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Physical Science and Technology; Wang Haixiao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Management; Li Chenglong, Assistant to the Dean of the School of Management; as well as Party branch secretaries, young teachers and staff from the administrative offices of both schools. The lecture was hosted by Chao Xiaorong.

First of all, Chao Xiaorong introduced the basic background of Professor Sun Hao. Afterwards, with the topic "Upholding the Original Aspiration of the Teaching Profession: From a Rural Teacher to a National Distinguished Teacher", Professor Sun delivered a systematic elaboration around several key aspects. These included "promoting the spirit of educators to serve the construction of a powerful education nation", "striving to be 'great educators' in the new era", "establishing oneself, pursuing academic research and imparting knowledge based on morality", and "imparting values through courses, scientific research and practical activities". Drawing on his own experiences and conducting in-depth analysis of typical cases, he vividly interpreted the spirit of educators and depicted the image of a teacher who "bears the motherland in mind, dares to be a pioneer, devotes himself to classroom teaching and nurtures talents through scientific research". He also encouraged all teachers to uphold morality as their foundation, commit wholeheartedly to teaching, and take on the glorious mission of being "great educators" in the new era.

During the interactive session, young teachers actively raised questions and exchanged ideas with Professor Sun on topics such as the collaborative talent cultivation through teaching and scientific research, and the implementation paths of ideological and political education in courses. The atmosphere at the venue was enthusiastic, with constant applause echoing throughout.

The participating teachers all stated that this lecture had further clarified their responsibilities and missions in building a powerful nation through education, science and technology, and talents. It also deepened their understanding of the significance of enhancing teachers' ethics and conduct, and clarified the direction for their teaching and educational practices. In the future, the schools will continue to promote the development of teachers' ethics and conduct. By highlighting model teachers and conducting research surveys, they will guide teachers to integrate the norms of teachers' ethics into their daily teaching and scientific research, and drive the high-quality development of the schools with a fine style of teaching.

Introduction to the "Young Seedling Salon"

The "Young Seedling Salon" of the School of Management is a learning and exchange platform for young teachers, voluntarily established by outstanding young teachers of the school with the care and support of the Party Committee of the School. Centering on the educational goal of nurturing young teachers, the salon will carry out a series of diverse and rich thematic activities, such as education on teachers' ethics and conduct, briefings on the school's development history and current situation, academic exchange events, teaching experience sharing sessions and competency improvement programs. These activities are designed to implement the core tenet of "keeping the original aspiration in mind, forging the soul of teaching, enhancing teaching capabilities and promoting sustainable development".

The salon aims to help young teachers gain a deeper understanding of teachers' ethics and conduct, strengthen their ideals and beliefs, cultivate their love for the motherland and the school, and foster noble teachers' ethics. It also strives to continuously improve their teaching and scientific research capabilities, and serves as an innovative and scientific model to promote the professional development of young teachers in the school. The name "Young Seedling" symbolizes the youth, vitality and promise of young teachers. It is expected that these young teachers will mature over time, bravely shoulder their responsibilities and achieve remarkable accomplishments in their teaching careers.
