On October 16th, at the invitation of the School of Management, Professor Liu Zhiyuan from Nankai University conducted an academic exchange with the faculty and students of the School at the 214 Lecture Hall in the College Building on the Chang'an Campus. He delivered an academic lecture titled "Research on the Impact Mechanism of Risk-Taking on Corporate Performance: A Basic Framework". The lecture was hosted by Professor Chen Lin from the School of Management, and was attended by both faculty and students from the School.

Professor Liu Zhiyuan started from the perspective of high-quality development of enterprises. He first introduced the strategic attributes of risk-taking decisions, then elaborated on the dynamic complexity of how risk-taking affects enterprise performance, and finally outlined the resource capability framework for enterprises to "seek victory amidst risks" from the perspective of resource capability pathways. Enterprises acquiring and accumulating resources and capabilities, and establishing a risk-sharing mechanism among stakeholders, contribute to the success of risk-taking strategies and the achievement of "seeking victory amidst risks".
At the end of the report, Professor Liu answered academic questions from the teachers and students present. The atmosphere was positive and lively. The participating students expressed that Professor Liu's research framework was very inspiring for their research directions.
Introduction of Lecturer:
Liu Zhiyuan is a member of the Communist Party of China, a professor at the Nankai University Business School, and a doctoral supervisor. He concurrently holds several academic positions, including Vice President of the Accounting Education Branch of the China Accounting Society, Advisor to the National Accounting Graduate Professional Degree Education Guidance Committee, Executive Director of the China Foreign Trade and Economic Accounting Society, Supervisor of the Supervisory Board of the China Association of Chief Accountants, Deputy Director of the IMA Academic Advisory Committee, Co-Editor-in-Chief of "China Accounting Review", Responsible Editor of "China Management Accounting", and Vice President of the Tianjin Accounting Society. He has received special government allowances from the State Council, is recognized as an Accounting Master by the Ministry of Finance, and has been awarded the New Century Excellent Talents Program by the Ministry of Education. He has served as Vice Dean of the Nankai University Business School, Head of the Accounting Department, Vice President of the China Internal Audit Association, and a member of the National Accounting Graduate Professional Degree Education Guidance Committee. He has co-led one key project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, led three general projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, led one key project funded by the National Social Science Fund of China, and led over ten other research projects. He has published more than 20 books and over 140 papers, and has received more than 20 teaching and research achievements and talent awards at the provincial and ministerial level and above.
