School of Management Held an Experience Sharing Session on National Fund Project Applications

To effectively advance the application work for national fund projects of the School for 2026 and further improve the quality and level of project applications by young teachers, the School held an Experience Sharing Session on Topic Selection and Application for National Fund Projects in Conference Room 214 of the School Building on the Chang'an Campus at noon on November 6. Vice Dean Jia Ming, Assistant to the Dean Li Chenglong, and nearly 40 young teachers and postdoctoral fellows attended the event, which was hosted by Li Jilxiu, Member of the Young Workers Committee. This event also marked the 33rd session of the Qinghe Salon organized by the School.

At the session, representatives of teachers whose projects were approved by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) this year shared their application experience in turn. Zhang Yali emphasized the importance of adhering to long-termism in research, and achieving substantial accomplishments through consistent in-depth research on core research directions. She also pointed out that the refinement and presentation of research innovations should be down-to-earth and easy to understand, to ensure that review experts can quickly and accurately grasp the research value.

Hong Zhaofu proposed that a fund application is essentially a systematic project of "reducing uncertainty". Young teachers must uphold confidence and determination, and explore the optimal solution for dynamic balance between the quality of the application proposal and various uncertainties. Meanwhile, it is necessary to re-examine the application materials from the perspective of review experts: any "points of doubt" arising during the reading process should be regarded as improvement targets that must be addressed. Ultimately, the goal of "valuable topic selection, innovative research, solid research foundation, and flawless writing" should be achieved.

Wang Juan stated that young teachers should adjust their research mindset during the application process, dare to break inherent thinking patterns, and conduct in-depth exploration of the underlying logic and personal insights behind their research. She urged continuous iteration to pursue perfection, realizing a leap from "writing a proposal merely for the application" to "telling a compelling story while conducting high-quality research".

After the topic selection sharing session, Jia Ming held discussions and exchanges with the attending teachers based on the draft suggestions for China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. He pointed out that Chinese researchers must proactively integrate their personal academic pursuits into the overall national development, focus on national development needs and the latest policy directions, and draw important innovative impetus therefrom. Young teachers should take project application as an opportunity to systematically sort out existing theoretical achievements, refine scientific problems, and enhance research depth; continue to deepen characteristic research directions and build academic identities, and ultimately form a positive cycle of "national demand – academic exploration – practical feedback".

This sharing session aimed to promote exchanges and mutual learning among the School’s teachers. The School will also continue to advance organized scientific research and provide all-round support for teachers in their project application work.

Brief Introduction to the Qinghe Salon

The Qinghe Salon of the School of Management is a learning and exchange platform for young teachers, initiated and established voluntarily by the backbone of young teachers with the care and support of the Party Committee of the School.

Through a series of diverse and rich-themed activities including teacher ethics and conduct education, university history and culture briefings, scientific research and academic exchanges, teaching experience sharing, and professional competency improvement, the Qinghe Salon fulfills its core mission of "Upholding the original aspiration, forging the teacher’s soul, enhancing teaching capacity, and promoting development". It aims to help young teachers gain a deeper understanding of teacher ethics and conduct, guide them to firm their ideals and beliefs, foster a profound love for the motherland and the university, and cultivate noble professional ethics. It also promotes the continuous improvement of young teachers’ teaching and research capabilities, and serves as a new scientific model for the career development of young teachers in our School.

The salon is named "Qinghe" (Green Seedling) , which symbolizes the youth, vitality and hope of young teachers. It is expected that young teachers will surely mature in the future, bravely shoulder their missions, and reap fruitful achievements in their academic careers.
