On October 10th, Professor Xiao Hui from the Big Data Research Institute of Southwest University of Finance and Economics was invited to give an academic report titled "Research on System Maintenance Management under Technological and Resource Constraints" in the 214 Lecture Hall of the School of Management. The report was chaired by Associate Professor Wu Bei from the School of Management, and some teachers and students from the school participated together.

Professor Xiao Hui, drawing on his extensive research experience in system maintenance management and combining cases of high maintenance costs in nuclear power plants and aviation equipment, pointed out that system maintenance faces three core challenges: limited resources at the layer, inaccurate detection at the information layer, and the coexistence of multiple dependencies at the system layer. Additionally, corresponding solutions were proposed for each challenge, including building relevant models to optimize component and spare parts management, accurately inferring component status, and proposing a heuristic strategy based on Q-learning. Experimental results showed that the proposed strategies could significantly reduce long-term maintenance costs compared to traditional methods. Professor Xiao Hui clearly explained the professional content through case studies and research practices, making it highly enlightening.
During the interactive discussion session, the participating teachers and students, based on the content shared by Professor Xiao regarding model building and state inference, actively raised questions about their own research and practical experiences. Professor Xiao, drawing on his own research experiences, patiently answered each question and further shared his research ideas and practical experiences.
Finally, Associate Professor Wu Bei gave a brief summary of this academic report session, affirming the academic value and practical significance of the presentation. The attending teachers and students all expressed that the content of this report was rich and the perspective was novel. They gained a lot from it and found it of great reference value for their subsequent research and practice.
