On April 2, 2024, at the invitation of the School of Management, Professor Li Jianping from the School of Economics and Management, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) conducted academic exchanges with teachers and students of the school and delivered an academic report entitled The Evolution of Data Pricing: From Economics to Computational Intelligence. The report was hosted by Professor Che Ada, Dean of the School of Management, and attended by teachers and graduate students of the school.

At the beginning of the session, Dean Che Ada introduced Professor Li Jianping’s research directions, scientific achievements and academic contributions, and the participating teachers and students extended a warm welcome to Professor Li Jianping.
In this report, Professor Li profoundly elaborated on the core value of data in the modernization of national governance, and pointed out that data pricing is a key step in realizing data security governance. He detailed the critical role of data factors in the context of the digital economy, and based on the trend of data volume growth, explored how to incentivize market participants to conduct effective pricing. Professor Li also analyzed the main challenges in the field of data pricing from multiple dimensions, including storage and transmission costs, the complexity of data integration and processing, accessibility, and durability. In addition, he discussed potential future research directions in data pricing and emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary research. During the interactive Q&A session, Professor Li Jianping had in-depth discussions and exchanges with the participants on the report theme, and provided detailed answers to the questions raised by teachers and students regarding the submission and review processes of academic journals.

He currently serves as a Chair Professor at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), Executive Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management, UCAS, Deputy Director of the Center for Forecasting Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Big Data Mining and Knowledge Management, CAS. His academic affiliations include Fellow and Secretary-General of the International Association of Information Technology and Quantitative Management (IAITOM), Vice President of the Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economic Mathematics, Chairman of the Risk Management Branch, Chairman of the Decision Science Branch of the Operations Research Society of China, and Deputy Director of the Financial Systems Engineering Branch of the Systems Engineering Society of China. He serves as Editor-in-Charge of the General Management Theory Section of the Management Science and Engineering Volume of
Encyclopedia of China (3rd Edition), and Editorial Board Member of more than 10 academic journals at home and abroad, including Editor-in-Chief of
Chinese Journal of Management Science and
Management Review. He is also one of the main leaders in the development of the FMS High-Quality Journal List in Management Science. His main research areas include risk management, big data management and decision-making, and fintech. He has won honors such as the "China Youth Science and Technology Award", "National Outstanding Science and Technology Worker", and "Outstanding Tutor Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences". He has published more than 150 academic papers in domestic and international journals, and obtained 2 first-class awards and 5 second-class awards of Provincial/Municipal Natural Science/Science and Technology Progress Awards, 1 CAS Education and Teaching Achievement Award, and 1 second-class award of Beijing Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievements.
