Recently, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council issued the Notice on Issuing the List of Degree-Authorizing Programs Revoked and Added by Institutions with Independent Review Authority for Degree Authorization in 2020 (Document No. Xuewei〔2021〕No.16). Upon review and approval by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, the School of Management has successfully secured the addition of the Doctoral Degree-Authorizing Program for the first-class discipline of Business Administration. This has fostered a new development pattern featuring the "dual-engine drive" of the two disciplines, namely Management Science and Engineering and Business Administration.

Over the years, the School of Management has fully implemented the Party's educational policy, adhered to the socialist orientation in running the school, and fulfilled the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. Upholding the school motto of "Integrity, Sincerity, Courage and Perseverance" and keeping in mind the school spirit of "Solid Foundation, Pragmatic Work, Modest Conduct and Pioneering Innovation", the school has leveraged the university’s strengths and distinctive features to strengthen the connotative development of its disciplines. Through a series of discipline-development initiatives—such as refining the core research directions of Business Administration and intensifying efforts in talent recruitment—it has consolidated its existing advantages, addressed its shortcomings, and comprehensively elevated the overall academic level and comprehensive strength of its disciplines.
The successful addition of the Doctoral Degree-Authorizing Program for the first-class discipline of Business Administration is the result of the concerted efforts and relentless endeavors of generations of faculty and staff at the School of Management, and marks a landmark advancement in the development of the school. Moving forward, the school will closely align its development with the national strategic demands, continue to refine its disciplinary orientations and build distinctive academic features. It will further strengthen the development of the degree-authorizing program, optimize the training of graduate students, steadily improve the quality of talent cultivation, and thereby contribute to the high-quality development of both the school and the university.
