To implement the university’s "Three Ones" practical education deployment for cultivating "Chief Engineer-oriented" talents, and to educate and guide students to foster strong patriotism, on July 4, 2025, Wang Haixiao, Deputy Secretary of the School of Management, and Bai Jie, Employment Supervisor, led 19 graduate students from the practical team "Tracing the Spirit of National Defense Industry, Forging the Dream of the Chief Engineer Path" to conduct practical exchange at China Aero-Technology Research Institute (the 301st Institute).

Zeng Jia, Director of the Human Resources Department / Organization Department of the Party Committee of the 301st Institute, directors of relevant research centers and business departments, and alumni representatives warmly received the delegation.

The team visited scientific research platforms including the EMC Laboratory, the Aviation Standard Parts Management and Test Verification Laboratory, and the Man-Machine Laboratory. Relevant principals gave detailed introductions to the construction, specific work, scientific research achievements and application of each laboratory, enabling students to personally experience the frontline of scientific research and production and understand how "national key equipment" is developed.

Cultural slogans such as "Serve the country through aviation, strengthen the country through aviation", "Mission above all, loyalty in everything", and "The motherland will always choose those who are loyal to her" were displayed everywhere in the institute, allowing students to truly feel the spiritual strength and profound values of devoting to national defense.

During the symposium, Zeng Jia extended a warm welcome to the teachers and students from the School of Management, Northwestern Polytechnical University, and expressed hope to deepen industry-education integration through this practice and attract more outstanding NPU graduates to work at the institute.

Subsequently, Liang Zhaolei, Director of the Quality Engineering Technology Research Center, Ni Chao, Director of the Quality and Benefit Research Center, Fang Fang from the Human Resources Department, Wang Qiusheng, Deputy Director of the Security Office and NPU alumnus, and Li He, Engineer from the Airborne System Integrated Technology Division and NPU alumnus, introduced the business scope of their respective departments, demand for management talents, and career development paths in the institute.

Combining their own experiences, the alumni urged the students to consolidate professional competence and achieve all-round development in comprehensive capabilities and soft power.

This social practice activity "Tracing the Spirit of National Defense Industry, Forging the Dream of the Chief Engineer Path" is an important measure for the School of Management to implement the "A Thousand Students Enter National Defense" initiative, advance university-enterprise collaborative education, and expand employment channels.

Through on-site visits and exchanges with national defense and military enterprises, students broadened their horizons, deepened their understanding and practical perception of strengthening the country through military industry and serving the country through military service. It further guided students to "set great aspirations, stand on great stages, join main battlefields, and undertake great causes", and aspire to become "Chief Engineer-oriented" talents at an early date to contribute to the fields where the motherland needs them most.
