To thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on youth work, carry forward the legacy of the May Fourth Movement and inspire youthful strength, on May 27, the 10th Postgraduate Party Branch of the School of Management at Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), together with the 2023 Master of Business Administration (MBA) Postgraduate Party Branch and the 2024 Master of Management Science and Engineering Postgraduate Party Branch of the School of Management at Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), jointly organized a joint Party-building activity. More than 40 Party members participated in the event. Ye Ning, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Management at XJTU, and Hu Ying, counselor, attended the activity.
At the opening of the event, the students visited the exhibition Echoes Through Millennia: Historical and Cultural Exhibition of Xi’an Jiaotong University at the Museum of XJTU’s Xingqing Campus, exploring the profound connection between XJTU’s campus and the ancient cities of the Han and Tang dynasties. This exhibition, like a dialogue across time and space, presented a cultural feast integrating historical heritage and the spirit of the times, and also built a platform for the two universities and their schools to further deepen cultural education cooperation and expand channels for joint construction and exchanges.
After the visit, the three student Party branches from the two schools held a joint presentation themed Carrying Forward the Red Legacy, Youth Shouldering New Responsibilities, focusing on the mission and responsibility of young Party members in the new era and jointly drawing a new blueprint for the deep integration of Party building and education.
The presentation was hosted by Comrade Wen Xin. Comrade Lu Yifei, Secretary of the 2023 MBA Postgraduate Party Branch of the School of Management at XJTU, delivered a speech titled Inheriting the Spirit of Westward Relocation, Shouldering the Mission of the Times. He elaborated on the historical background and great significance of XJTU’s westward relocation, reviewed the arduous years of hard work and the noble character of selfless dedication of the teachers and students during the relocation, and called on the students to learn and carry forward the Spirit of Westward Relocation with patriotism at its core, seize new opportunities in the new era, and contribute their wisdom and strength to the development of the western region and national construction.
Comrade Zhu Yuhan, Secretary of the 10th Postgraduate Party Branch of the School of Management at NPU, gave a speech titled Tracing the Glorious History of the University, Inheriting the Red Root. He introduced the historical evolution and characteristics of NPU, highlighted the university’s outstanding contributions to China’s national defense, military industry and other key fields, and showcased the patriotism of NPU students who strive to make achievements in the places most needed by the motherland.
At the end of the activity, the students from the two universities and schools visited the XJTU Westward Relocation Museum together to revisit the Spirit of Westward Relocation. Standing at a new starting point in the new era, young people in universities should continue to inherit and carry forward the spiritual lineage of the Chinese Communists, including the Spirit of Westward Relocation. Facing the new demands and challenges of national development, NPU students will surely shoulder their responsibilities and forge ahead bravely, adhere to the original aspiration of serving the country through science and technology, fulfill the mission of strengthening the country through science and technology, resonate with the future development direction of the motherland, and contribute youthful strength to Chinese-style modernization!
This joint Party-building and learning activity with the School of Management at XJTU is a feast of ideological collision, a bridge for the integration of wisdom, and a melting pot for the gathering of strength, writing a vivid model of Party-building exchanges among university students. The school will continue to encourage and support student Party branches to carry out joint learning and construction activities, continuously promote the deep integration of Party building and postgraduate education and training, guide postgraduates to establish correct values and academic views with high-quality Party building, and provide solid talent support for the development of the cause of the Party and the country.
