On May 20, the School of Management held the "Soaring Role Models" Report Meeting at the Lecture Hall of Chang'an Campus. The event invited Ma Chengyuan, an outstanding alumnus of the School of Management, international business expert of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), and Secretary of the Party Branch & Chief Representative of AVIC International Kenya Office, as the keynote speaker. He delivered a report entitled From Xi’an to the World to more than 100 students of the School of Management. The activity was hosted by Wang Haixiao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.
Drawing on his study and work experience, Ma Chengyuan shared his insights and systematically introduced the development history and global business layout of AVIC International. He focused on the practical achievements of AVIC International in promoting China-Africa cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as his personal experience and growth.
From the perspective of professional practice, he centered on the theme "Live a Wonderful College Life" and gave suggestions on college planning, covering goal-setting, improving professional competence, mastering efficient learning methods, participating in clubs and campus activities, social practice and internships, competitions and innovative projects, developing international vision and cross-cultural competence, and cultivating essential soft skills. He also emphasized the importance of academic learning and the necessity of cross-disciplinary capabilities, and shared how to build a personal knowledge system and time management system.
During the interactive session, the students actively raised questions such as:
"Why did you choose AVIC International instead of other seemingly better opportunities?"
"How can students from the School of Management better enhance their employment competitiveness?"
Ma Chengyuan provided targeted advice based on his own experience.
This lecture not only offered valuable guidance on career development, but also demonstrated the sense of mission of the School of Management students in serving national strategies through the growth stories of outstanding alumni.
The school will continue to carry out the "Soaring Role Models" series of activities to build more platforms for students to communicate with outstanding alumni. It is hoped that students will take outstanding alumni as role models, continuously improve their comprehensive abilities in academic study and social practice, and contribute the wisdom and strength of NPUers to national development in various fields in the future.
