On the afternoon of May 10, the 7th Undergraduate Student Congress and the 5th Postgraduate Student Congress of the School of Management was grandly held in the Lecture Hall of the School of Management.
Wang Haixiao, Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee, Nayili Kuerban, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Zhang Lin, Supervisor of the Postgraduate Association, Shen Xinyi, Member of the Presidium of the University Postgraduate Association, Ye Zimu, Member of the Presidium of the University Student Union, and Guo Ziru, Member of the Presidium of the Student Union of the School of Foreign Languages attended the conference. A total of 65 undergraduate representatives and 28 postgraduate representatives participated. Li Xinyu, an undergraduate student of the Class of 2024, served as the host.
At 14:00, the preparatory meeting officially began. The attending representatives heard the Work Report on the Preparation for the 7th Undergraduate Student Congress and the 5th Postgraduate Student Congress of the School of Management and the Report on the Qualification Review of Delegates (Draft) for the 7th Undergraduate Student Congress and the 5th Postgraduate Student Congress of the School of Management. They deliberated and adopted the Agenda (Draft) of the 7th Undergraduate Student Congress and the 5th Postgraduate Student Congress of the School of Management and the List of the Presidium and Secretary-General (Draft) of the 7th Undergraduate Student Congress and the 5th Postgraduate Student Congress of the School of Management.
At 14:30, the official conference opened with the solemn national anthem.On behalf of the University Postgraduate Association, Shen Xinyi delivered a speech. She stated that the Postgraduate Association and student representatives should strengthen their faith, dare to take on responsibilities, enhance organizational development, deepen reform measures, and effectively serve students and the development of the university.
On behalf of the University Student Union, Ye Zimu delivered a speech. He put forward the direction for the future work of the Student Union from three aspects:“strengthening ideological foundations and guiding youth orientation”,“practicing the purpose of service and improving service effectiveness”,and “adhering to strict governance of the union and consolidating reform achievements”,so as to continuously improve student satisfaction, contribution to overall development, and social recognition.
In his speech, Nayili Kuerban extended warm congratulations on the convening of the congress. He fully affirmed the remarkable achievements and contributions made by the School Student Union and Postgraduate Association in ideological guidance and organizational education over the past year, and encouraged everyone to continue to inherit and carry forward the glorious traditions, forge ahead with determination and innovation, and compose a more colorful chapter of youth with the youth, wisdom and strength of NPU students.
Wang Haixiao affirmed the work of the School Student Union and Postgraduate Association, and put forward expectations and requirements for future work. He pointed out that the Student Union and Postgraduate Association should build a sound organizational system, adhere to the principle of “serving students wholeheartedly”, and shine with youth in the practice of serving students, boosting the development of the school, and contributing to society.
Wu Tianze, Executive Chairman of the 5th Student Union of the School of Management, and Li Mengru, Executive Chairman of the 3rd Postgraduate Association, respectively presented the 2024–2025 annual work reports of the Student Union and Postgraduate Association. They objectively and comprehensively summarized the work of the past year and proposed to further summarize experience, highlight features, expand ideas, and contribute more to the development of the school.
Subsequently, all representatives unanimously adopted the list of the chief supervisor, chief teller, supervisors, and tellers for the election, as well as the list of candidates for the Presidium of the 7th Student Union and the Presidium of the 5th Postgraduate Association of the School of Management.
The candidates introduced themselves one by one, elaborating on their reasons, advantages and future work plans for running for the presidium.
Wu Tianze, the chief supervisor, presided over the election and announced the election rules. The representatives voted in an orderly manner. After careful and detailed vote counting, the election results were finally released, and the conference concluded successfully.
During the vote counting, the representatives heard, deliberated and adopted the Constitution (Draft) of the Student Union of the School of Management, the Constitution (Draft) of the Postgraduate Association of the School of Management, and the Reform Plan for the Student Union (Postgraduate Association) of the School of Management.
This congress systematically reviewed the remarkable achievements of the Student Union and Postgraduate Association over the past year in ideological and political guidance, campus culture construction, student rights protection, and promoting school development. It also pointed out the direction for the future development of student organizations, marking a new starting point for the school’s student work to build on past achievements and reach new heights.
Youth meets a prosperous era, and striving is the right time. The Student Union and Postgraduate Association of the School of Management will continue to unite and call on all students to work with one heart and one mind, keep pace with the times, and contribute youthful energy to the high-quality development of the school with higher morale and more solid work style.
