On the evening of October 20, the "Orchestra Resonates Across Sanqin, Dance Opens a New Chapter" Welcome Gala, co-hosted by the School of Management and the School of Automation, kicked off. Two hours of wonderful performances were presented one after another. Under the beautiful moonlight, youth and dreams set sail from here.
At 7:00 p.m., the welcome gala officially began. Dancers in colorful costumes took the stage first. Students from the School of Automation brought the opening dance Dominate Thirteen, Love Deeply. Familiar melodies such as Love Like Fire, GG Bond and Miracle Appears sounded. Along with the students’ dances, the atmosphere reached its first climax.
Next came the dance Adoration by the Jiu Xian Yin Dance Team. The rhythmic music and passionate dances gradually warmed up the scene. Following closely was the song Mercury Records by the Guitar Association, as if bringing the audience into a beautiful galaxy, with emotions rising and falling with the music. Then came the cross talk Chicken and Dog Ascend to Heaven by the Lexiang Society of the University Art Troupe, full of witty lines and constant laughter, winning warm applause and cheers from the audience.
Then came the song medley Slow Cold, River, Big Wind, Mountains and Seas. From the calm and soothing melody of Slow Cold to the explosive performance of Mountains and Seas, the waves of sound built layer by layer, pushing emotions to a climax and immersing the audience in the extraordinary space created by the songs.
Four wonderful programs followed one after another: a street dance medley, the song 100, the dance Peony Pavilion Dream Visit, and the song The Hundredth Day. Performers were from the "Windleader" Electric Band of the University Art Troupe, the School of Management, and the School of Automation. The gala reached repeated climaxes, and no one could stay calm at this moment. The two songs had their own characteristics but both expressed sincere and touching feelings; the dances traveled through ancient and modern times, combining the elegance of Liniang’s dream in the Peony Pavilion with the unbridled publicity of modern street dance… leaving a lasting impression.
Afterwards, a fashion show, band performances, dances and songs came one after another. First was the Heavenly Sword Dance · Martial Arts Style Fashion Show by the "T-show Team" of Jiu Xian Yin. Wearing ancient costumes, the students showed strong aura, elegant steps and graceful figures, attracting the attention of all audience.
The "Pop Medicine Shop Band" of the Guitar Association performed two songs Fairy and Take Me to Nightlife. Passionate drum beats and loud suona lit up the enthusiasm of all audience, pushing the atmosphere to another climax.
The "Zero Year Anime Association" presented the dance Entertainment. When the lights dimmed, only the young performers on stage and the glow sticks danced in the dark. The colorful lights and powerful movements blended into the melody, capturing the eyes of the whole audience.
Two students from the School of Management sang the song Los Angeles, bringing the audience back to a turbulent era. The song expresses chivalry, friendship and the passage of time. The dance medley by the Jiu Xian Yin Dance Team also enchanted everyone with its enthusiasm and vitality.
Finally, students from the School of Automation took the stage with the song Light Chaser. The familiar melody seemed to take everyone on a time machine back to the hard‑working middle school days, inspiring reflection. The video prepared by students from the School of Automation, interwoven into the performance, filled everyone with hope for a brighter future. Glow sticks waved throughout the venue with the tune, and the "Orchestra Resonates Across Sanqin, Dance Opens a New Chapter" Welcome Gala quietly came to an end amid beautiful music.
Tonight at NPU, dreams fly high. It is your passionate youth that injects bright colors into the university. Tonight’s gathering is bright with stars; your confident smiles make the stage extremely gorgeous.
We wish all freshmen the courage to pursue their dreams in the coming four years. May senior students keep moving forward, chasing the wind and the moon without stopping.
