Only by empathizing with students and exchanging sincerity for sincerity can we truly become a guide and confidant who accompanies them to grow up healthily. Growing and achieving together with students is the most beautiful outcome one can imagine in the role of a counselor.

Educating, Managing and Serving Students

It is often said that counselors are all-rounders, offering academic guidance, attending to daily life, and advising on further study and employment... and Teacher Li Chenglong is exactly such an all-round professional.

Since taking up the post of counselor in 2018, he has attached top priority to students' academic performance and taken multiple measures to further strengthen the academic atmosphere of the grade. For key and difficult courses, he has launched academic tutoring programs through peer education, inviting outstanding students to act as student lecturers. More than 30 review and explanation sessions have been held in total. Meanwhile, he has set up a column Mini Classroom on new media platforms such as the official WeChat account and Bilibili, building an online learning space. The column has launched video explanations for courses including Operations Research and Intermediate Financial Accounting, with a total playback volume of over 10,000, winning great popularity and affection among students. He also actively encourages students to participate in various innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, inviting experts and teachers to provide comprehensive training on competition knowledge and experience sharing for students, and reviewing and polishing their competition entries to elevate the quality. Thanks to these efforts, the school has achieved the best results in recent years in relevant innovation and entrepreneurship competitions.

"Being both a teacher and a friend, and offering humanistic care" has always been his understanding of the relationship between counselors and students. In daily life, students will inevitably feel down due to academic or life difficulties, and Teacher Li is always there for them, offering meticulous care and help and accompanying them to make progress together. Beyond study, the mooncakes he buys for students with his own money on the Mid-Autumn Festival and his assists in scoring goals on the football pitch are all witnesses of his growth together with students. Students' addresses for him have changed from Teacher Li to Counselor Li, and then to Brother Long, yet his commitment to the counselor's post and his enduring original aspiration, sense of responsibility and love for this profession remain unchanged. As the saying goes, You toss a peach to me, and I will repay you with a jade ornament. While students make progress, he also gains immense happiness from this job.

With a smile on his face, a spark in his eyes, a responsibility on his shoulders and love in his heart, over the past three years, Teacher Li has always abided by the professional ethics of a teacher—to impart knowledge, teach skills and resolve doubts, and to educate students about virtues while instructing them in academics. He has fulfilled his duties of educating, managing and serving students in this ordinary post.
