Recently, the Ministry of Education issued the Decision on the Awards for the 9th Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements (Humanities and Social Sciences) of Institutions of Higher Education (Document No. Jiao She Ke〔2024〕4). The achievement “A memetic differential evolution algorithm for energy-efficient parallel machine scheduling” submitted by Professor Che Ada from the School of Management won the Third Class Award of the Academic Works and Papers Category, while the achievement “The Rank-one Quadratic Assignment Problem” submitted by Professor Wang Yang received the Young Scholars Achievement Award. This marks a historic breakthrough for the school in this award.
Guided by the “127” development goals, the school has systematically promoted organized scientific research. In recent years, it has made continuous breakthroughs in securing national-level major and key projects as well as producing high-caliber research outcomes. Taking this award-winning achievement as a new impetus, the school will continue to focus on national major strategies and the needs of economic and social development, strive to deliver more impactful academic outputs, and contribute to the prosperity and development of philosophy and social sciences.
The Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements Award (Humanities and Social Sciences) of Institutions of Higher Education is the highest honor in the field of philosophy and social sciences in China, held once every three years. A total of 1,496 achievements were honored in the 9th edition (including those from universities in Hong Kong and Macao). Among them, 1,196 were awarded in the Academic Works and Papers Category (118 first class awards, 513 second class awards, and 565 third class awards); 76 in the Consulting Service Report Category (7 first class awards, 32 second class awards, and 37 third class awards); 21 in the Popular Science Readings Category; and 203 in the Young Scholars Achievement Category.
