On October 10th, Professor Xiao Hui from the Big Data Research Institute of Southwest University of Finance and Economics was invited to give an academic report titled "Research on System Maintenance Management for Technology and Resource Constraints" at Room 214 of the School of Management. The report will be chaired by Associate Professor Wu Bei from the School of Management, and some teachers and students from the school will participate together.

Professor Xiao Hui, based on his in-depth research experience in the field of system maintenance management and using high maintenance cost cases such as nuclear power plants and aviation equipment, points out that system maintenance faces three core challenges: limited resources, inaccurate detection at the information layer, and coexistence of multiple dependencies at the system layer. In addition, corresponding solutions are proposed for each challenge, including building relevant models to optimize component and spare parts management, accurately inferring component status, and proposing heuristic strategies based on Q-learning. The experiment shows that the proposed strategy can significantly reduce long-term maintenance costs compared to traditional methods. Professor Xiao combines case studies and research practice to clearly explain the professional content, which is highly inspiring.

In the interactive communication session, the attending teachers and students actively asked questions about the model modeling and state inference shared by Professor Xiao, combined with their own research and practical difficulties. Professor Xiao patiently answered each question based on his own research experience, further sharing his research ideas and practical experience.

Finally, Associate Professor Wu Bei provided a brief summary of the academic conference and affirmed the academic value and practical significance of the report. The attending teachers and students expressed that the report was rich in content and had a novel perspective, and they gained a lot from it, which has important reference value for future research and practice.

Professor and doctoral supervisor at Southwest University of Finance and Economics, specially appointed professor for the Ministry of Education's Major Talent Project, Vice Dean of the Institute of Digital Economy and Interdisciplinary Science Innovation, and Executive Director of the Philosophy and Social Sciences Laboratory of the Ministry of Education for Financial Security and Behavioral Big Data. I mainly research reliability management, simulation optimization, big data management, etc. I have published more than 60 papers in domestic and foreign journals such as Automation, IEEETAC, and IISE Transactions. I have won honors such as the first prize of the Ministry of Education's Excellent Research Achievement Award for Higher Education (Humanities and Social Sciences) and the Youth Science and Technology Award for Systems Science and Systems Engineering. I have also led the National Natural Science Foundation of China's youth, general, and key projects.
